Detroit Priestly Vocations

Brand Film & Visual Identity

While under the Archdiocese of Detroit’s Unleash the Gospel initiative, we partnered with the vocations office to create a compelling brand and visual presence for Detroit Priestly Vocations (DPV). The challenge? There was no budget for a full shoot, but they still needed something that would stir hearts, generate momentum, and reflect their deep spiritual commitments.

Father’s creative brief was clear: “Create a logo that someone would want to get tattooed.” And someone did. The brand took root in the imagery of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary — honoring DPV’s dedication to both, and its home at Sacred Heart Major Seminary.

With Joe Pelletier of Jo Mo designs we crafted a brand-forward “hype” film built entirely from motion graphics and existing archival footage, creating a high-energy tone that felt fresh and reverent. In tandem, we designed a bold, tattoo-worthy logo mark that echoed the spiritual seriousness and personal devotion at the heart of the priesthood. For the web, we collaborated with a trusted developer to create a functional, mobile-first site with a clean layout, intuitive UX, and clear calls to action for young men discerning their vocation.

Outcome

Detroit Priestly Vocations launched with a powerful new identity, one that married timeless Catholic devotion with a bold visual presence. The new visuals gave DPV a unified presence across digital and print platforms, and the tattoo-worthy logo? That part really happened.
